FULL-TIME OPTOMETRIST REQUIRED
An exciting full-time opportunity has arisen for an Optometrist who wishes to develop their skills in both an Ophthalmology and High Street Optometric setting. The position will require the successful candidate to work in a well-established independent Opticians based in West Lancashire for two days per week, and then spend three days at iSight Britain’s first independent Specialist Ophthalmic Daycase Hospital providing comprehensive secondary and expert care for a wide range of eye conditions.
The Role in Optometric Practice
Providing a thorough and comprehensive eyecare service
Appointment times of 30 minutes
Contact lens fitting and aftercare
Full fields provided by the support team
Working between 3 practices close together
Working alongside other qualified Optometrists
Friendly and relaxed environment
Patient focused
Fundus camera and OCT available
Computerised records
2 days a week to include Saturdays. Working hours from 9am to 5.30pm
The Role in Ophthalmology
Provide expert clinical advice, support, leadership and direction to staff and patients.
To work autonomously is all clinical aspects, having own workload of patients.
To perform diagnostic assessments and ophthalmic procedures as requested by the consultants.
To carry out a comprehensive holistic assessment by pre-operatively screening patients prior to day case surgery.
To obtain patient consent.
To educate patients and carers as appropriate in order to achieve compliance to treatment prescribed by Ophthalmologists.
To assist Ophthalmologists to perform procedures within the clinic and theatre when required.
To be a member of the clinical on call team and to organise and see emergency patients out of hours under the guidance of the consultant on call and the Medical Director as required.
Act in the patients best interest at all times and in an emergency situation.
To maintain and promote confidentiality at all times.
To maintain clinical knowledge and skills in accordance with the relevant regulatory bodies.
Develop and expand own clinical practice in improve care and treatment of iSIGHT patients
Develop clinical practice for trained and untrained staff.
Requirements
Fully qualified and registered with the GOC
All levels of experience and backgrounds will be considered including newly qualified

The salary will be £30,000 depending on experience plus other company benefits. Five weeks holiday will be provided, plus bank holidays.
