Professional Certificate in Glaucoma

Last year our Local Eye Health Network obtained a £40k grant to allow community optometrists to take the Professional Certificate in Glaucoma at Bradford University - More information is on our News and Secretary's report page. The price of the course has been discounted for N Yorks Optometrists.

The Brain Tumour Charity are working to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of a brain tumour, the importance of eye examinations and the impact optometrists can have on people’s lives who suffer from brain tumours.

It will help to aid earlier diagnosis of brain tumours in children, improve the relationship between eye examinations and wider health benefits and support patients once diagnosed.

They have asked our LOC to share some of their materials available for both Optometrists and patients, these are available on our news and secretary's page.

The new Cataract referral form can be found on the downloads page. Harrogate and District have their own Cataract referral form, also in the download page.

In the news section in the Primary Care Support England section there is a copy of the letter regarding Choice Office Relocation and action needed for routine referrals. Fax referrals are no longer accepted. Information in the letter indicates the process to obtain an nhs.net address if you do not have one.
