Welcome to Herefordshire Local Optical Committee

This is a website for patients and optical professionals in Herefordshire.

The Herefordshire Local Optical Committee is a statutory body set up to advise the NHS Commissioning Board Local Area Team for Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Coventry on ophthalmic issues. Following the latest re-organisation, Herefordshire LOC, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Coventry will represent each county to the one Local Area Team.

This Local Area Team (LAT) will enable optometrists and dispensing opticians in the area to formulate collective views on the administration of ophthalmic issues and, in particular, to make suggestions for their improvement and to transmit them to the NHS Commissioning Board and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). It also serves as a platform for the local dissemination of information amongst optometrists and dispensing opticians.
